For every day, 15,000 blood donations are needed in Germany to treat patients in German hospitals.

Together with over 200,000 volunteers of the German Red Cross, we organize blood donation appointments in cities, schools, universities, companies, at events or in very unusual places.

Most of our blood donors know us, the DRC Blood Transfusion Services, through one of the more than 43,000 blood donation appointments that we organize and carry out each year in Germany. The DRK blood transfusion services employ more than 3,800 staff. Doctors, nurses, chemists, biologists, rescue assistants, laboratory staff, technicians and administrators.

Six regional blood transfusion services of the German Red Cross (DRK) with their institutes and centers for transfusion medicine take care of the patients and Germany.

In addition to the organization of blood donation appointments, we are a major medical laboratory, pharmaceutical manufacturer, reliable logistics & service provider, innovative research center and a competent training company and employer.
