The Hamburg Riverboatmen's Church is delighted that a passionate organist will be playing a benefit concert this afternoon. Tobias Naumann has put together a program that will showcase the small organ and the church's acoustics to their best:
Tobias Naumann will play Antonio Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" in appropriate arrangements for the organ. In the concert, he will present Summer and Autumn from The Seasons and then "respond" with an organ concerto by George Friederich Händel.
He will also introduce two composers from Scandinavia:
With a sonata by Johan Helmich Roman, Tobias Naumann will introduce the most important composer of the Baroque period from Sweden, known as the Swedish Händel, and with "Serta florum" (Flower Garlands), a contemporary composer from Denmark will be presented:
Andreja Andric, who lives and works in Aarhus. He works as both a composer and programmer at Danske Bank. His music combines medieval tonal language and compositional techniques with the structural thinking of a modern computer scientist. Andreja Andric's music doesn't shock the listener, but rather takes them on a journey of discovery.
With the piece "Serta florum," the audience will experience a true Hamburg premiere aboard the Riverboat Church, the world premiere in Hamburg.
The program will also be supplemented with shorter pieces by various composers.
Tobias Naumann worked as an organist in Germany. In 2022, the musician and his wife, Yuliana Bawarska-Naumann, also an organist, moved to Denmark to work as organists and church musicians. Yulianna is the principal organist, and Tobias is the organist and cantor in Brønderslev.
Admission is free, registration is not required.
