The 5-member jury had a tough time again this year. Of the numerous entries, 19 were awarded prizes. All 19 award-winning pictures can be seen from 15.01. to 15.02.2025 in the traveling exhibition for the 39th district photo competition in the city library at Ulmenstr. 15 during opening hours.
In the categories: "Our food", "Diversity in human interaction", "Natural light", "Joys and festivals in Northwest Mecklenburg" and the children and youth category up to the age of 16 with the special topic "Our school life", a five-member jury decided on the awarding of prizes. Among them were Professor Olaf Fippinger from the Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Design with a specialization in photography, Susanne Gabler, freelance artist and member of the art advisory board of the Hanseatic City of Wismar and member of the project management team of the Hinter dem Rathaus gallery in Wismar, artist Annette Czerny, Georg Hundt, photographer, designer and author of the "VielSehn-Magazin: Menschen, Kultur und Lebensart in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern", among others, and Dr. Karen E. Hammer, art historian of the Hanseatic City of Wismar. Karen E. Hammer, art historian and employee for cultural projects and event organization at the Hanseatic City of Wismar.
The competition has been organized by the Grevesmühlen-based Fotoclub'82 for many years in cooperation with the district of Nordwestmecklenburg and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The competition is open to all photographers with pictures exclusively from the district of Nordwestmecklenburg. The photos should reflect the life and beauty of our district.

The exhibition can be viewed on the top floor of the town library from Mon+Thurs, Thu+Fri from 10 am to 6 pm, on Wednesday from 1 pm to 6 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm.
