Kirch Stück: The Förderverein der Kirche zu Kirch Stück e.V. invites you to an Advent concert by the Schwerin Cathedral Choir under the direction of the new cathedral cantor Christian Domke on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 5 p.m. in the church of St. Georg zu Kirch Stück .

Members of the cathedral choir have been organizing choir concerts in village churches around Schwerin during the Advent season for over 30 years. We are delighted that an ensemble from the Schwerin Cathedral Choir will be presenting their traditional Advent concert here for the first time this year. We are very excited to see whether the repertoire will also include Advent and Christmas songs in Low German, in keeping with the linguistic peculiarity of our church.

The cathedral choir currently consists of around 150 singers. Their work focuses on large choral works such as those by Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as regular music-making in church services. On November 1, 2025, the Peace and Cathedral parish choirs merged to form the new Cathedral Choir.

Admission is free; at the end of the event, we will be collecting donations for the Förderverein Musik im Dom e.V. and to fund an accessible route to the main portal of the church.
