52nd FilmSaloN: LOVING VINCENT

    Friends of FILMKUNSTFEST Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e. V.

One year after Vincent van Gogh's death, a letter from the artist to his brother Theo suddenly appears. The young Armand Roulin is given the task of delivering the letter. Initially reluctant, he sets off, but the more he learns about Vincent, the more fascinating the painter, who met with incomprehension and rejection throughout his life, appears to him. Was it not suicide in the end? Armand resolutely sets out in search of the truth.
LOVING VINCENT brings van Gogh's unique pictorial worlds to life: 125 artists from all over the world created more than 65,000 individual images for the first film made entirely from oil paintings. The result is a visually intoxicating masterpiece whose splendor of color and aesthetics will linger for a long time.
