Johannes Brahms - Tragic Overture in D minor op. 81
Richard Strauss - Don Juan. tone poem op. 20
Unsuk Chin - subito con forza
Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No. 8 in F major op. 93

Between powerful sound and subtle wit. Brahms' Tragic Overture unfolds a dark, passionate soundscape that is deeply moving. This is followed by Strauss' Don Juan, an opulent firework display full of drama and sensuality that musically brings the world of the legendary seducer to life. In subito conforza , we encounter a garish, contrasting reflection on Beethoven - explosive and fascinating. Finally, Beethoven himself presents himself in his 8th Symphony, tongue-in-cheek and surprising, virtuosic and anything but well-behaved.
