The International Neighborhood Festival has been a fixture in Steilshoop since 1989. With the exception of the two pandemic years, it brings the residents of the neighborhood together every year. Numerous institutions, initiatives, and dedicated individuals contribute to the organization, making the festival possible in all its diversity and vibrancy.
The focus is not only on celebrating together. The neighborhood festival also sends a clear message against xenophobia and racism, and in favor of openness and cultural diversity. It creates a place of encounter where the peaceful coexistence of different cultures and nations in Steilshoop becomes visible and tangible.
The festival gets its special character from the fact that it is designed by, with and for the people of Steilshoop.
