SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Family Movie: “Fritzi—A Miracle of the Reunification”
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:An award-winning animated film about the fall of 1989 as seen through=0D=0Aa child's eyes=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AGermany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Czech Republic 2019=0D=0ADirectors: Ralf Kukula, Matthias Bruhn=0D=0AScreenplay: Beate Völcker, Péter Palátsik, based on the novel=0D=0A“Fritzi war dabei” by Hanna Schott and Gerda Raidt=0D=0ARuntime: 88 minutes, FSK: Ages 6 and up, Recommended for ages 9 and=0D=0Aup. What=0D=0A=0D=0Awas the fall of the Berlin Wall like? What happened in the GDR before=0D=0A1989—and afterward? This animated film tells the story from the=0D=0Aperspective of thirteen-year-old Fritzi. Her best friend Sophie=0D=0Atraveled to Hungary with her parents and defected from there. Why?=0D=0AFritzi begins to ask questions and, together with her classmate Bela,=0D=0Abecomes a witness to these historical events. On top of that, her=0D=0Afriend who fled left her dog Sputnik behind. Fritzi decides to return=0D=0Ahim to her and travel to West Germany to do so. Barbara Felsmann from=0D=0Athe Children’s and Youth Film Portal is delighted at how the film=0D=0A“breaks down nuanced historical narrative for children, making it=0D=0Ainteresting and understandable for a young audience.” We’re=0D=0Alooking forward to an animated film that appears to be very richly=0D=0Adetailed and are very curious to hear your reactions. As always, Café=0D=0AWahrheit opens at 2 p.m. Tickets and more are available there. At 7=0D=0Ap.m., the program continues with the DEFA film “Unser kurzes=0D=0ALeben” (Our Short Life), followed by a discussion with Carolin=0D=0AWürfel.=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A
