SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Theater Performance “The Martensmann Is Here! – The Secret of the=0D=0ATwo Barrels”
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The play is a small highlight of the Martensmannfest on November 7 in=0D=0Athe monastery town of Rehna.=0D=0A=0D=0AOn the sunny evening of November 7, 2026, the monastery town of Rehna=0D=0Awill once again celebrate the Martensmann Festival in honor of the=0D=0Aarrival of the Lübeck messenger—the Martensmann—in Rehna. Every=0D=0Ayear around St. Martin’s Day, the Martensmann delivers a barrel of=0D=0ALübeck Rotspon as a gift from the Hanseatic City of Lübeck to the=0D=0AState capital Schwerin, stopping along the way in Schönberg and=0D=0ARehna. Traditionally, the festival in Rehna begins at 2:00 p.m. with=0D=0Acarnival attractions, a stage program, and food and drinks on the=0D=0Amonastery grounds. Last year, the play “Waiting for the=0D=0AMartensmann” was already a small highlight of the festival. This=0D=0Ayear, at 3 p.m. on the stage in the monastery courtyard, this year’s=0D=0Aplay, “The Martensmann Is Here! – The Secret of the Two=0D=0ABarrels,” will begin, featuring an amateur theater group from Rehna=0D=0Adirected by actress Karin Plichta-Söding. In a playful and, above=0D=0Aall, humorous way, the play conveys the custom of the Martensmann and=0D=0Abridges the gap between the tradition’s origins in the 16th century=0D=0Aand today’s Martensmann Festival. You can look forward to an=0D=0Aexciting play with plenty of humor and a touch of mystery surrounding=0D=0Athe secret of the two barrels. Admission to the performance is free.=0D=0AFor more information: Rehna Monastery and City Information Center,=0D=0AKirchplatz 1a, 19217 Rehna | Phone: 038872 52 765 | Email:=0D=0Ainfo@kloster-rehna.de=0D=0A=0D=0AThe play is part of the project “Grenzenlos – der Zukunft eine=0D=0ABühne geben!” (Boundless – Giving the Future a Stage!).
