She experiments with new techniques and lets=0D=0Aforms and colors interact freely until something unexpected emerges.=0D=0A“Sometimes, in this process, I manage to capture a fleeting=0D=0Aemotion,” she says.=0D=0A=0D=0AUnder the title “Color Games—Autumnal—Night Thoughts,” Heike=0D=0ABüttner presents works in various techniques on wood and paper.=0D=0AFigurative works stand alongside abstract ones; a lush autumnal floral=0D=0Apainting sits next to free-flowing lines, circles, and enigmatic=0D=0Afigures. Vibrant swaths of color meet dark backgrounds; abundance=0D=0Ameets minimalism; stillness meets movement. The paintings do not=0D=0Afollow a uniform formal language—and it is precisely in this that=0D=0Atheir connection lies.=0D=0A=0D=0AOn wood, the material’s natural grain remains visible. Grain=0D=0Apatterns and knotholes are incorporated, played around with, or=0D=0Atraversed by streams of color. On paper, lines can unfold freely,=0D=0Athicken, and then recede again. Some forms are reminiscent of plants,=0D=0Afigures, or landscapes, without being clearly definable.
