SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Volunteer Work on the Dry Slopes of Petersberg
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Working Together for the Dry Grasslands: During the volunteer workday=0D=0Aat the “Trockenhänge am Petersberg” nature reserve, we’ll be=0D=0Atrimming broom and gathering the clippings. This helps preserve=0D=0Avaluable habitats for rare plants and animals. Every helping hand is=0D=0Awelcome! Please register in advance.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Foundation for Environmental Protection and=0D=0ANature Conservation invites volunteers to participate in this year’s=0D=0Awork project in the “Trockenhänge am Petersberg” nature reserve.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe dry and nutrient-poor grasslands there are valuable habitats for=0D=0Anumerous rare plant and animal species. To ensure that these special=0D=0Aopen-land habitats are preserved, they are grazed by sheep. In=0D=0Aaddition, the emerging broom must be regularly cut back mechanically=0D=0Ato prevent it from overgrowing the areas.=0D=0A=0D=0ADuring the joint work event, the broom will therefore be cut back=0D=0Ausing loppers and brush cutters. The clippings will then be gathered=0D=0Aup. Thanks to the support of many volunteers, the dry grasslands have=0D=0Aalready thrived in recent years. Now we look forward to seeing both=0D=0Afamiliar and new faces who would like to lend a hand with us.=0D=0A=0D=0ASturdy footwear and work gloves are recommended. If you have them,=0D=0Aplease bring ear protection and safety goggles. The foundation will=0D=0Aprovide large pruning shears. A light lunch will be provided.=0D=0A=0D=0AMeeting point: Small hiking parking lot southeast of the Pinnow glider=0D=0Aairfield=0D=0A
