SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Compagnie La Tempête: »Obsession«
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Letting yourself be completely swept away by the sound, enjoying the=0D=0Amusic as an almost physical experience – this is what the French=0D=0Aensemble La Tempête promises with its multimedia programme=0D=0A»Obsession«. Voices, instruments, lighting, dance and a mysterious=0D=0Astage design merge with the hypnotic music of Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass=0D=0Aand others to create a total work of art.=0D=0AWith La Tempête (»The Storm«), the name says it all: from=0D=0ARenaissance and Baroque music to minimal music, the ensemble sweeps=0D=0Athrough a wide range of works. »Obsession« focuses entirely on the=0D=0Acircle, on cyclical forms and repetitions. Two emblematic works by=0D=0AArvo Pärt frame excerpts from Philip Glass’s »1000 Airplanes on=0D=0Athe Roof«, a science-fiction music theatre piece about the sighting=0D=0Aof extraterrestrial life.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe programme concludes with dances by the French composer Jehan=0D=0AAlain, who died at a young age and whose music was audibly inspired by=0D=0Athe jazz clubs of 1920s Paris.=0D=0A=0D=0APERFORMERS=0D=0A=0D=0ACOMPAGNIE LA TEMPÊTE choir and orchestra=0D=0A=0D=0ASIMON-PIERRE BESTION conductor=0D=0A=0D=0APROGRAM=0D=0A=0D=0A»Obsession«=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AAn immersive performance of sound, light and movement=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AARVO PÄRT=0D=0AMiserere=0D=0A=0D=0APHILIP GLASS=0D=0A1000 Airplanes on the Roof=0D=0A=0D=0AARVO PÄRT=0D=0ATriodion for Mixed a cappella Choir=0D=0A=0D=0AJEHAN ALAIN=0D=0ATrois Danses=0D=0A
