The performers—Marion Ebert, Dr. Grit=0D=0ANonnemann, Dr. Friederike Lempe (ret.), Hartmuth Juch, and Steffen=0D=0ABöhme—will present works by renowned European composers that are=0D=0Ararely heard. The musicians have very deliberately chosen to focus=0D=0Aartistically on the theme of minnesang from the High Middle Ages. The=0D=0Aoccasion also marks the 700th anniversary of the death of the only=0D=0Arecorded minnesinger in the Baltic region, Wizlaw III of Rügen—the=0D=0Alast ruler of the principality and vassal of the Danish king—in=0D=0ANovember 2025. They carefully attempt to project some of Wizlaw’s=0D=0Asongs—preserved in the Jena Song Manuscript from the early 14th=0D=0Acentury—into the 21st century in a historically informed adaptation=0D=0Aas Middle High German Sangspruch poetry, presenting them in a=0D=0Amusically and sonically compelling manner.=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AIn this approximately 90-minute moderated program, both popular pieces=0D=0Aand rarely performed rarities from music history will be performed on=0D=0Ahistorical musical instruments seldom heard today. The discerning=0D=0Aaudience can look forward, among other things, to performances on=0D=0Arecorders, the krummhorn, the lute, and the keyed fiddle—known in=0D=0ASwedish as the nyckelharpa and in Italian as the viola d’amore a=0D=0Achiavi.=0D=0A=0D=0AIn addition to the songs of Wenceslaus III, the program includes=0D=0Acompositions by W. v. d. Vogelweide, H. Isaac, T. Arbeau, J. Playford,=0D=0AJ. Dowland, J. Pachelbel, G.P. Telemann, W.A. Mozart, and 20th-century=0D=0Afolk music.=0D=0A=0D=0ADoors open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets, priced at 18.00 EUR (reduced rate:=0D=0A15.00 EUR), can be pre-ordered or purchased immediately via email:=0D=0Asonoro-consort-mv@web.de or by phone: 0176.210 219 50. Following the=0D=0Aconcert, the organizers and performers ask for a donation to further=0D=0Asupport preservation work on the church building as well as the=0D=0Apreservation of the intangible cultural heritage of “music=0D=0Apreservation” in the field of “early music.”=0D=0A
