SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Kammerphilharmonie Hamburg / Anton Barakhovsky
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:This concert evening focuses on Viennese Classicism and Romanticism=0D=0Aand highlights their relationship to Turkish music – both past and=0D=0Apresent! The programme centres on Anton Bruckner’s String Quintet in=0D=0AF major, composed and premiered in Vienna. The work itself reflects=0D=0ABruckner’s sophisticated harmonies and formal depth, embedded in the=0D=0AViennese chamber music tradition of the late 19th century. On the=0D=0Aother hand, like the master’s great symphonies, this quintet is=0D=0Aimbued with Bruckner’s mysticism of nature and Catholic religiosity.=0D=0AAccording to Bruckner biographer Mathias Hansen, it seems »like a=0D=0Afaithful echo of Bruckner’s symphonies, played by a Mahlerian=0D=0Adistant orchestra.« It therefore makes sense that the work is being=0D=0Aperformed in a version for chamber orchestra in today’s concert. =0D=0AThe broad arc between the two poles of Vienna and Turkey on this=0D=0Aconcert evening is formed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Fifth Violin=0D=0AConcerto, the so-called »Turkish Concerto«. As a representative of=0D=0Athe so-called »Viennese Classical« period, Mozart reflects in the=0D=0Arondo movement in the »alla Turca« style the stylised imitation of=0D=0AOttoman military sounds that was popular in Europe at the time, rather=0D=0Athan authentic Turkish music in the ethnomusical sense; he=0D=0Ademonstrates Mozart’s creative integration of the »exotic« sound=0D=0Aideal of his time. However, authentic Turkish music can be heard right=0D=0Aat the beginning of the concert in the world premiere of the diptych=0D=0A»Dialogs with Schlenker« by siblings Ayşe and Ümit Önder from=0D=0AIstanbul.=0D=0A=0D=0APERFORMERS=0D=0A=0D=0AKAMMERPHILHARMONIE HAMBURG ensemble=0D=0A=0D=0AANTON BARAKHOVSKY violin=0D=0A=0D=0AARNDT AUHAGEN conductor=0D=0A=0D=0APROGRAM=0D=0A=0D=0AÜMIT ÖNDER, AYŞE ÖNDER=0D=0ADialogs with Schlenker=0D=0A=0D=0AWOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART=0D=0AConcerto for Violin and Orchestra in A major, KV 219=0D=0A=0D=0A- Interval -=0D=0A=0D=0AANTON BRUCKNER=0D=0AString Quintet for two violins, two violas and violoncello in F major=0D=0A
