SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Windros on the Road 2026
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:As a preview of the successful Windros Festival, the Hagenow Museum is=0D=0Aonce again hosting an exclusive double concert this year.=0D=0A=0D=0AThis year, the Danish folk band Phønix will perform alongside the duo=0D=0ADi Yiddishe Neshome, featuring Alan Bern and Mark Kovnatskiy.=0D=0A=0D=0APhønix, one of Denmark’s most popular folk bands, is coming to=0D=0AHagenow. With their unique blend of traditional songs and original=0D=0Acompositions, they have not only won numerous awards at home but have=0D=0Aalso enjoyed success around the world, from the U.S. to China. Since=0D=0Athe 1990s, the quartet has been breathing new life into the Danish=0D=0Amusic scene, using clarinet, accordion, and percussion to create a=0D=0Acaptivating soundscape of danceable, groovy rhythms, over which the=0D=0Aexpressive voice of singer Karen Mose soars.=0D=0A=0D=0AIn their program *Di Yidishe Neshome*, Alan Bern & Mark Kovnatskiy=0D=0Ainvite the audience on a moving journey through the soul of Yiddish=0D=0Amusic. Alan Bern has been a leading figure in the international=0D=0Aklezmer revival for 40 years. As the founder and artistic director of=0D=0AYiddish Summer Weimar—the most important festival of this genre in=0D=0AGermany—he has had a lasting impact on the musical landscape. Mark=0D=0AKovnatskiy is a violinist, singer, composer, lecturer, and expert on=0D=0AYiddish dances. He leads a generation that has preserved and further=0D=0Adeveloped the sensitive playing style of the old klezmorim for the=0D=0Apresent day. Both musicians found their way to Yiddish music from the=0D=0Aworld of classical music. This foundation enables them to preserve the=0D=0AYiddish tradition with the utmost precision while harmoniously weaving=0D=0Ait together with influences from classical music. Their music also=0D=0Ablends influences from jazz, Moldavian, Greek, and Arabic music—the=0D=0Aresult of an intensive engagement with the music of the peoples among=0D=0Awhom Jewish musicians have historically lived.=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A
