SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The Fire-Red Flower
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Based on the Russian story by Sergei T. Aksakov | Adapted by Julia=0D=0ASontag | A hopeful Christmas fairy tale | For ages 6 and up=0D=0A=0D=0AA small wish. A mysterious journey. A friendship that changes=0D=0Aeverything.=0D=0AAs he does every year, a merchant sets off for distant lands. He=0D=0Apromises his three daughters gifts—as always. The two older=0D=0Adaughters know exactly what they want: a magnificent dress, a=0D=0Asparkling necklace. As long as it’s beautiful, expensive, and=0D=0Aflashy. But the youngest daughter, Aljona, wants something completely=0D=0Adifferent. No jewels or silk. Just a flower. A fiery red flower=0D=0Ashe’s been dreaming of. =0D=0AHer father finds this flower deep in the forest, near an enchanted=0D=0Acastle where a strange queen and her servant live. But as he picks it,=0D=0Athe unthinkable happens: the flower belongs to a monster, and suddenly=0D=0Athe fate of the entire family hangs in the balance. To save her=0D=0Afather, Aljona makes a courageous decision. She faces the unknown and=0D=0Aencounters a creature and a world that needs her help. =0D=0A=0D=0AAn enchanting story about courage, compassion, the search for a way to=0D=0Aforgive, and what constitutes “true” beauty. The fairy tale *The=0D=0AScarlet Flower*, written by Sergei T. Aksakov in the 19th century,=0D=0Abecame unforgettable to many through the Russian film classic *The=0D=0AScarlet Flower*. =0D=0A=0D=0AThis year’s Christmas-time family production retells the well-known=0D=0A_“Beauty and the Beast” story_ in a version full of heart, magic,=0D=0Aand poetry. It reminds us that it’s worth looking beyond the=0D=0Afaçade—because so much beauty can lie hidden in what appears to be=0D=0Augly and unknown.=0D=0A=0D=0A
