SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Balfolk - dance evening with folk-dance fusion
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Join-in dance evening for everyone. European traditional circle,=0D=0Achain, line and couple dances to beautiful live music.=0D=0A=0D=0APREMIERE! The newly founded band FOLK-TANZ-FUSION will be performing=0D=0Athree times at the Mueßer Freilichtmuseum this summer. This=0D=0Arefreshing dance band is made up of two new music formations from=0D=0AMecklenburg. Together they play Balfolk.=0D=0A=0D=0ABALFOLK BRIEFLY EXPLAINED: _Bal_ - French for dance, _folk_ stands for=0D=0Afolkloristic. _Balfolk_ is a "folk dance evening" with musicians=0D=0A(mostly) from the region. It is not about stage performances in=0D=0Atraditional costumes, but about dancing together on the dance floor to=0D=0Abeautiful dance songs from all over Europe. French dances are=0D=0Apredominantly represented, as well as dances from England,=0D=0AScandinavia, Germany, the Mediterranean region, Balkan countries...=0D=0AThe traditional dances have deep regional roots, but are combined and=0D=0Afurther developed through many dance evenings and festivals throughout=0D=0AEurope. Since the 1970s, a lively and growing European dance movement=0D=0Ahas emerged.=0D=0A=0D=0AMUESS IS PART OF IT, because these dances are about having fun and=0D=0Adancing together in a large circle or in a long line or as a long=0D=0Achain or as a couple. The dances are called Andro, Gavotte, Bourrrèe,=0D=0APolska, Mazurka, Slängpolska, Chappelloise, Polka, Waltz,=0D=0ASchottisch... which are danced together with growing enthusiasm across=0D=0Athe generations.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe traditional dance evenings in the Museumsdorf Mueß - mostly with=0D=0AMecklenburg dance songs - have enjoyed great popularity for years.=0D=0A"Here, people still dance the way they used to: together to groovy=0D=0Alive dance music, without sheet music, without technique and with a=0D=0Alot of heart and fun. No one is left standing alone on the sidelines=0D=0Ahere. The music and the dancers simply invite you to join in. I felt=0D=0Athe same way years ago. That's how I went from being a dance grouch to=0D=0Aan enthusiastic dancer," reports museum employee Fred-Ingo Pahl.=0D=0A=0D=0AALL THE DANCES ARE PARTICIPATORY! Some are briefly explained. However,=0D=0Aas there are always experienced dancers involved, there are always=0D=0Ahelping hands in the dance circle. All dances are suitable for young=0D=0Aand old, couples and singles, beginners and advanced dancers. You=0D=0Adon't have to be perfect to join in. It's all about fun and pure joie=0D=0Ade vivre.=0D=0A=0D=0AFOLK-TANZ-FUSION will be performing three times in summer 2026 at the=0D=0AMueß Open-Air Museum on Saturdays from 7 to 10 p.m. on May 23, July=0D=0A18 and August 8.=0D=0A=0D=0AAdmission: 15 EURO each time. Please bring your own food and drink.=0D=0A=0D=0AInfo/Orga: Fred-Ingo Pahl: 0175 5303970 Organizer: Freilichtmuseum=0D=0ASchwerin-Mueß.=0D=0A=0D=0AThere will be three more join-in dance evenings in the Mueßer=0D=0AMuseumsdorf with the band GERMAN SKILLS.
