SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Bohuslav Martinů Days – Prologue
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Bohuslav Martinů was a Moravian composer whose life and work=0D=0Anaturally spanned across his Czech homeland, Europe, and America. He=0D=0Awas one of the few Czech creators to achieve prominence on a global=0D=0Ascale. Paradoxically, due to the Nazi occupation and the subsequent=0D=0ACommunist regime, his works were for a long time suppressed in his=0D=0Ahomeland. Geopolitical developments made it impossible for him to=0D=0Areturn. From his departure in 1938, he never saw his native country=0D=0Aagain.=0D=0A=0D=0AThrough the prologue of »Bohuslav Martinů Days« festival, the=0D=0ABohuslav Martinů Foundation joins forces with three other prominent=0D=0ACzech institutions – the Association of Concert Artists, the Music=0D=0Aand Dance Faculty of AMU, and the Prague Conservatory – as well as=0D=0Athe Hamburg University of Music and Drama in Germany. As part of a=0D=0Aconcert celebrating the collaboration between these institutions,=0D=0AMartinů symbolically invites his younger colleagues to the stage:=0D=0Acomposers Gideon Klein and Pavel Haas, who unfortunately did not=0D=0Asurvive the cruelty of the Nazi occupation and perished in=0D=0Aconcentration camps.=0D=0A=0D=0AThis concert brings together not only institutions and destinies but=0D=0Aalso a wide generational spectrum. Alongside renowned performers,=0D=0Ayoung artists on the threshold of their brilliant careers will be=0D=0Aintroduced. Among them is Jan Novák, namesake of another famous Czech=0D=0Acomposer, who became a laureate of the Prague Spring International=0D=0AMusic Competition at the age of seventeen.=0D=0A=0D=0APERFORMERS=0D=0A=0D=0AMATOUŠ ZUKAL piano=0D=0A=0D=0ANIKLAS LIEPE violin=0D=0A=0D=0AJAN NOVÁK violin=0D=0A=0D=0AAMBER PAN viola=0D=0A=0D=0APETR NOUZOVSKÝ violoncello=0D=0A=0D=0AIRVIN VENYŠ clarinet=0D=0A=0D=0ACHRISTIAN KUNERT bassoon=0D=0A=0D=0ATIM KADLEC flute=0D=0A=0D=0AJAN SOUČEK oboe=0D=0A=0D=0AJOSPEH LONGSTAFF french horn=0D=0A=0D=0AHYEOUNJUN LEE trumpet=0D=0A=0D=0APROGRAM=0D=0A=0D=0ABOHUSLAV MARTINŮ=0D=0ADuo for Violin and Violoncello No. 1, H 157=0D=0A=0D=0AGIDEON KLEIN=0D=0ATrio for Violin, Viola and Violoncello, WV 23=0D=0A=0D=0APAVEL HAAS=0D=0AWind Quintet, Op. 10=0D=0A=0D=0A- Interval -=0D=0A=0D=0ABOHUSLAV MARTINŮ=0D=0AEight preludes for piano H 181=0D=0A=0D=0ABOHUSLAV MARTINŮ=0D=0ALes Rondes, H 200=0D=0A
