SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Photo art exhibition: Silent testimonies
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:"80 years of the end of the war - 80 years of liberation - 80 years of=0D=0Aremembering, commemorating, honoring, admonishing"=0D=0A=0D=0AOn the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the=0D=0Aliberation of the Wöbbelin concentration camp, the ASSOCIATION OF=0D=0AMEMORIALS IN THE LUDWIGSLUST-PARCHIM DISTRICT and the HAGENOW MUSEUM=0D=0Acordially invite you to the opening ceremony of the traveling=0D=0Aexhibition "SILENT TESTIMONIES" on SUNDAY, JULY 13, 2025 at 3 P.M. in=0D=0Athe OLD SYNAGOGUE HAGENOW, where it can be viewed until October 26,=0D=0A2025.=0D=0A=0D=0AUnder the leitmotif "80 YEARS OF THE END OF THE WAR - 80 YEARS OF=0D=0ALIBERATION - 80 YEARS OF REMEMBERING, COMMEMORATING, HONORING,=0D=0AADMONISHING", the exhibition is dedicated to the silent places of=0D=0Aremembrance in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. In sensitive black=0D=0Aand white photographs, the photographers LISA MASSOW and THERESE=0D=0AKIETZMANN document central places of remembrance that commemorate the=0D=0Avictims of National Socialism.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe photographs work with a restrained degree of abstraction that=0D=0Arespectfully captures the atmosphere of the places and invites quiet=0D=0Areflection. The result is an artistic-documentary testimony that not=0D=0Aonly documents, but also encourages people to engage with history. The=0D=0Aexhibition was created in close cooperation with the Association of=0D=0AMemorials and Remembrance Sites and will be on display at various=0D=0Alocations in the district over the course of the year.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe exhibition has a special connection to the history of the town of=0D=0AHagenow itself: ON JULY 10, 1942 - 83 YEARS AGO - KÄTHE AND HERMANN=0D=0AMEINUNGEN WERE DEPORTED WITH THEIR DAUGHTER HANNA. Their fate=0D=0Aexemplifies the suffering and extinction of Jewish life. The Old=0D=0ASynagogue - today a place of remembrance - was once a center of Jewish=0D=0Aculture before it was desecrated by the National Socialists and the=0D=0Alife of its community destroyed.=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AIllustrations:=0D=0A=0D=0APoster for the exhibition "Silent Testimonies"=0D=0A=0D=0AThe special exhibition can be visited during regular opening hours and=0D=0Aby prior arrangement.
