SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The Sophs
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Following a rocket-like career start within just one year of being=0D=0Adiscovered by the renowned indie label Rough Trade and three=0D=0Asuccessful single releases, The Sophs from LA are finally coming to=0D=0AGermany in April 2026 for four club shows, including concerts in=0D=0AHamburg, Berlin, Munich and Cologne.=0D=0A=0D=0AFor The Sophs, it all began in September 2024, when singer Ethan=0D=0ARamons sent out their first demos to his favorite labels – among=0D=0Athem the indie giant Rough Trade. Up to this point, nothing unusual in=0D=0Atoday's music industry. However, even seasoned music industry veterans=0D=0Adon't hear every day that Ramons would receive a response from Rough=0D=0ATrade founders Geoff Travis and Jeannette Lee themselves after just=0D=0Aone day. Travis and Lee were immediately impressed by the band's=0D=0Acreativity, unflinching honesty, and drive. According to Ramon,=0D=0Asigning the contract felt like "an act of complete, mutual trust." In=0D=0AMay 2025, their first single, "SWEAT," was released. In it, the group=0D=0Asings about the unease of losing control, thus exploring the question=0D=0Aof power within our own emotional landscape. As the song progresses,=0D=0ARamons's powerful voice erupts until he's screaming at the top of his=0D=0Alungs. "SWEAT" is reminiscent of legends like The Strokes or Radiohead=0D=0Anot only vocally, but also through Ramon's charismatic stage presence=0D=0Aand the skillful interplay of the entire band. However, this sextet is=0D=0Anot a typical indie rock band. Ethan Ramon, Sam Yuh (keyboards),=0D=0AAustin Parker Jones (electric guitar), Seth Smades (acoustic guitar),=0D=0ADevin Russ (drums), and Cole Bobbitt (bass) impress with their=0D=0Aexperimental approach: whether feeling at home in different genre=0D=0Acategories, be it indie, rock, pop-punk, or even funk, or being open=0D=0Ato explosive mood swings between loud and quiet. At the same time,=0D=0Athey grapple with serious themes and thought spirals. Brutal honesty=0D=0Ais one of the band's hallmarks: giving space to deeply ingrained,=0D=0Aintrusive thoughts before they take over – that's The Sophs' credo.=0D=0A=0D=0AIn their short history, they played shows in their native western USA=0D=0Ajust one week after contacting a record label, followed by shows on=0D=0Athe East Coast; in Europe, they performed in London and Paris in 2025,=0D=0Aamong other cities. With their eagerly awaited debut EP "GOLDSTAR,"=0D=0AThe Sophs will embark on another European tour in 2026, including four=0D=0AGerman concerts in April 2026, which should definitely be marked on=0D=0Ayour calendar.=0D=0A
