Vom 28. August bis zum 6. September spielen jeden Tag zwei aufregende neue Bands.
Alle sind super und die Konzerte kosten keinen Eintritt. Es gibt also keine Ausrede...
It takes a bridge from Hamburg to Berlin for the dreampop-shoegaze duo Garlands to exist. An unbroken lifeline, characterized by layered guitars, polyphonic vocals and drony synthesizers. The band’s name – a reference to the Cocteau Twins’ first album – recalls the ethereal atmospheres of the dream pop era.
Garlands looks back, but also explore new territories, reinventing their music and themselves in the process. In their sound, they quote the noise of My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth, but at the same time the two multi-instrumentalists create vast landscapes that range from delicate pop harmonies and loops to echoes of ambient, kraut and psychedelic rock.
Lyrically too, the musicians embark on a journey into vast cosmos. The band also stands for the deconstruction of restrictive concepts, unwilling to allow the narratives of pop to be dictated by mass markets and ageism, they focus their senses on a life of ruptures, new beginnings and transit zones from the perspective of midlife, embarking on a journey that ranges from deep oceans to mountain peaks.
Garlands come from Berlin and Hamburg. Sui Kemmer (vocals, bass, flute; Hamburg) and Catharina Rüß (vocals, guitar, synthesizer. Berlin). Live they they create a wall of soundwith Homero Alonso (guitar) and Adrian Bang (drums, tapes). The band is active in the Berlin and Hamburg music scenes.

Wir sitzen zwischen Stühlen und suchen das laute Feine, das wir transportieren möchten. Nun ist das Spektrum aufgespannt, in neuer Besetzung erweitert sich ein Klang.

Wie auch immer: Unser Beitrag zur Ausweitung der W-LAN Zone ist notwendig. Geben wir uns den eigenen Algorythmus zurück, denn Essig und Expertise gepaart, sind wie wir, die eine Blutbahn, es enttäuscht uns nicht, da es technisch möglich ist. Wir waren so satt gefeiert. Bitte jetzt, wir haben keine Bremsen, können also durchfahren bis zur nächsten Bühne!
