Natural history and geological observations along the west coast of North America,
a lecture with the geologist Dirk Pittermann (Zittow)
America - land of unlimited expanses. Even on an extended vacation, it is not possible to experience the north of America in such a way that one can only begin to discover or grasp the beauty of nature.
But the experiences you can have on a vacation should be described here.
Along the west coast of North America, from Vancouver in Canada to Los Angeles in California, numerous natural observations and geological features are shown and explained.
The 3,000 km route provides insights into the many beautiful landscapes, flora and fauna as well as geological features. These include the Canadian Coast Mountains, the volcanoes of the North American Cascade Mountains with Mount St. Helens, as well as a visit to the hottest place in North America, Death Valley.
The changing landscapes with the climatic and faunistic transitions can be impressively and well presented on this north-south journey. From the coastal rainforests to the redwoods, but also the steppe regions of the dry plains of the Sierra Nevada, everything is included.
Let the geologist Dirk Pittermann tell you about the natural beauty and interesting stories about the flora, fauna and geology along the North American west coast on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 7 p.m. in the Ludwigsluster Natureum and whet your appetite for your own journey to the land of unlimited expanses.
The Naturforschende Gesellschaft Mecklenburgs cordially invites you to this richly illustrated lecture. The fee is €3 for members of the NGM and €4 for guests.
